The Lodge Cast Iron Skillet is 10.25 inches in diameter, pre-seasoned with 100% vegetable oil and no synthetic coatings. It ships with a red silicone hot handle holder and an assist handle on the opposite side of the main handle.
Cast iron holds and radiates heat more evenly than stamped steel or aluminum, which gives meat a better sear and eggs a more uniform cook. The skillet moves between stovetop, oven, grill, and campfire without breaking down — a single pan covers most of the week’s cooking. Pre-seasoning gets the pan usable out of the box, and the seasoning deepens with use instead of wearing off. The silicone handle cover slides on when the pan is hot, and the cast-in assist handle helps two-hand the pan full of roast or cornbread.
A kitchen workhorse for home cooks and campers — searing, roasting, frying, baking cornbread, cooking over coals.
Lodge has cast these skillets in South Pittsburg, Tennessee since 1896.
