This is the Chris King R45 road front hub in black, drilled 28-hole for standard 100mm quick-release spacing. The hub shell is machined and anodized in Portland around King’s own sealed bearings.
It anchors a custom road wheelbuild that is meant to last decades — R45s routinely outlive several rim generations, getting re-laced as rims wear out while the hub spins on.
Chris King Precision Components has machined bicycle components in Portland, Oregon since 1976, making its own bearings from domestic-mill materials and anodizing parts in-house.
