This is the Chris King DropSet 2, an integrated headset for frames with 42mm upper and 52mm lower bearing seats at 45 degrees. The stainless steel cartridge bearings are made in King’s own factory and sealed against water and grit.
It replaces the no-name bearings that ship in most integrated road and gravel frames — the ones that rumble after a wet season — with bearings that stay smooth for years of riding. Check the original headset’s measurements for fitment before ordering.
Chris King Precision Components has machined bicycle components in Portland, Oregon since 1976, making its own bearings from domestic-mill materials and anodizing parts in-house.
