This is a universal GrillGrate Sear Station measuring 15 inches deep by 15.375 inches wide, designed to sit in one section of a pellet grill grate. The raised aluminum rails concentrate heat where the meat touches, so you get defined sear marks from a cooker that otherwise runs like a convection oven.
The usual routine is to smoke low, then crank the grill and finish the steak over the Sear Station — reverse sear, all on one cooker, without dragging out a cast iron pan. It fits pellet grills 15 inches deep or more and works the same on gas.
GrillGrate has manufactured its grates in Cartersville, Georgia since 2007, and the panels are hard-anodized so they will not rust.
