The Vaughan CF4P California Framer Hammer is the smooth-face counterpart to the company’s milled CF4, a 16-ounce framer with a magnetic nail starter slot in the head and a long-pattern California claw that delivers extra reach over a standard rip claw. The smooth face works trim and finish nails without the dimple a milled face leaves on visible work.
Use it for finish framing, trim where strike marks would show, light demolition with the long claw, hanging cabinets, deck rails, and any framing-style swing where a milled face is too aggressive for the finish material. The magnetic nail starter holds an 8d sinker upside down for one-hand starts on overhead framing and ladder work.
Vaughan & Bushnell has been forging hammers in Hebron, Illinois since 1869 and remains the largest American striking-tool manufacturer still operating in the United States. The CF4P carries Vaughan’s lifetime warranty against defects in material and workmanship.
