Mayhew Tools has forged American punches, chisels, and pry bars since 1856 — the same kind of tools that built the industrial United States. Drop-forged high-carbon steel, knurled-grip bodies that don’t twist in the hand during strike work, and the kind of hardness profile that takes hammer blows day after day without mushrooming.
The 14120 Pry Bar is Mayhew’s forged-alloy heavy-duty pry bar — the bar you reach for when a carpenter’s nail-puller won’t handle the job. Drop-forged from chrome-vanadium alloy, heat-treated for impact strength, and the handle is knurled for wet-hand grip. Hex shank for using a wrench to add torque to stuck fasteners.
Mayhew forges its punches, chisels, drift punches, and pry bars at Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts — one of the oldest continuously operating American hand-tool forges. The Made-in-USA line is stamped domestically, heat-treated in-house, and covered by Mayhew’s lifetime warranty against defects.
