This is the Chris King DropSet 3, an integrated headset with steel cartridge bearings for IS41 upper and IS52 lower bearing seats at 36 degrees, with a 30mm crown race and 28.6mm threadless stem clamp. The bearings are made in King’s Portland factory.
It upgrades the anonymous bearings in modern integrated road, gravel, and mountain frames to ones that survive power washing and winter slop. Check the frame’s bearing seat spec (IS41/IS52) before ordering.
Chris King Precision Components has machined bicycle components in Portland, Oregon since 1976, making its own bearings from domestic-mill materials and anodizing parts in-house.
