The John Boos BBQ Series 18×12 Inch Maple Cutting Board is the standard BBQ-and-carving board in the line, an 18×12 footprint with a 1.5-inch thickness and a juice groove cut around the perimeter of one face. The 8.5-pound board fits the working countertop without taking the entire prep zone the way the 17×21 walnut BBQ board does, while still delivering the juice management and 1.5-inch thickness serious carving demands.
Use it as the everyday roast-carving board, a Thanksgiving turkey board, a barbecue and smoker accessory for normal-size cuts (4-pound brisket flat, half-rack ribs, whole chicken), a general kitchen workhorse where the juice groove earns its keep, and any application where the standard 18×12 footprint is the right size. The flip side is smooth for general prep.
John Boos has been hand-crafting butcher blocks in Effingham, Illinois since 1887 — the company that supplied butcher blocks to the original Chicago meat-packing district. Every Boos board is made from sustainably-sourced Northern hard maple and finished in food-safe Boos Block Cream.
