What sets this bed apart is the depth — 14 inches, where most starter beds stop around 7. That extra soil column is what lets root vegetables size up properly instead of forking against a shallow base.
At 2 by 4 feet it fits a side yard, a narrow strip along a fence or a first raised bed on a small lot. The boards slide into dovetailed corner posts, so it goes together on the ground in a few minutes and comes apart the same way if you move it.
Greenes Fence has been building cedar garden structures in Ohio since 1947, working with North American timber.
