DuoGlide is Dexter’s home-kitchen line, and the 8-inch chef’s knife is its centrepiece. The blade carries the same Duo-Edge grind used across the professional range — shallow scallops on one side that break the suction between a wet slice and a smooth blade face.
The difference from the foodservice knives is the handle: contoured and finished for a domestic kitchen rather than moulded for NSF washdown. The steel is the same stain-free stock Dexter uses on its commercial blades.
Dexter-Russell has made cutlery in Southbridge, Massachusetts since 1818 and is the oldest cutlery manufacturer in the United States. DuoGlide is its consumer kitchen line, pairing the company’s Duo-Edge grind with a contoured handle rather than a foodservice one.
